This is a list of books from the Goosebumps book series written by R. L. Stine and published by Scholastic. The first book, Welcome to Dead House, was published in July 1992. Two reviewers of the Goosebumps books did not feel that the books were high quality literature. U.S. News & World Report’s Marc Silver thought the series was “quite tame”. He called the Goosebumps books “subliterature”, stating the plotting in the books was careless and that characters in the stories rarely grew.
